Easy.  Each diskless machine has its own root file system, the root of
which is a per-machine directory on a file system on its server, e.g.:

	bootme% /etc/mount
	alpha1-e4:/export0/root/bootme on / type nfs (rw)
		...

There's lots of things you can survive without, but it may be convenient
to have "/usr" read-only.
