variable number of strings passed to function - how?

This probably seems like a silly question, but are there any compilers
that pass arguments globally?  Things of the form

		static void
	foo (m, n)
		int m, n;
	{
		if (m==0)
			return;
		m = bletch (m,n);
		foo (m,n);
	}

Would win from this.  I doubt that these account for a
significant part of the usage.
