But this is exactly the argument put forth by Herman for his various "widely
useful operations".

There is no doubt that swap is a common and useful function that is missing as
a primitive in 'C'.  Equally, there are many more.

The discussion is obviously a religious one - where should the line be drawn.
As such, it is probably not going to be profitable.
