TC++ Distribution Manuals

Some time back (not all that far back) someone had posted disappointment
that Borland had not sent new Turbo Assembler manuals with his/her
shipment of TC++ Professional. I experienced the same problem.

I immediately called Borland. The representative said, "Well, you see,
part of the deal with yoou getting such a good price on this package was
that we don't send the Assembler manuals. They're the same, and we felt
you could just use the olde ones, and refer to the Quick Ref Guide for
changes." (This is paraphrased).

I pointed out that my TASM manuals were old, worn, and had been red-inked
to death with the errata file that Borland sent with them. And anyway,
if there are changes, shouldn't we have the documentation for them?

She took my name, etc., and said she would have someone look into it.

Within a week, I had a FedEx Overnight shipment: The TASM 2.0 manuals.
I would think any mature company would see that such a policy is
penny-wise and pound foolish. Withholding manuals to save a couple of
bucks while angering customers is downright dumb.

Anyway, if this is *your* problem, call Borland now! (And use their
toll-free sales line, not the stupid you-pay-for-it-all Technical
Assistance line -- this is their mistake, not yours.)

Now, if we can just get them to produce those two handy utilities they
promised in the manuals......:-)
