Starting off into OOP; can you recommend a buy-able class lib?

I'm a ``good'' programmer who's been bitten by the OOP bug and am
comparing tp5.5 vs. c++ for the purpose. I thought having a good
class library for starters would be useful both as a base for
work and as instructive reading of source, learning-by-imitating.

Can you suggest your favourite class library along with general
opinions and cost info? The areas of interest are databases,
user interfaces and statistical computing.

Thanks,

	-ans.
