Dear Gentle Readers:

     My mistake in my previous query about the huge pointer addition error has,
with varying degrees of compassion, been pointed out to me.  Thanks to those
of you who responded.  Remember, folks, that adding to a pointer increments
relative to the size of the structure it points to.  How embarassing.
