Eunice startup problem

Symptom:

initgbl in eunice.com bombs out. Gives stack dump - very unhelpful.

Problem:

initgbl needs 300 contiguous blocks.

We ran into this problem trying to reboot Eunice without rebooting VMS.
Even though we had plenty of space on the system disk, during the few
minutes that Eunice gave up its vforkcomm.gbl space, someone must've
snarfed it up. If you never backout Eunice while VMS is running, you
will never have this problem.

Fix:

Reformat disk, or delete some files. Our system manager gave me the
command "pip dra0:/fr" to display the largest contiguous disk section.
Its not completely accurate (seems to work like a low-water mark), but
it did the job (confirming the problem). If anyone reads this far, I
would appreciate know the correct incantation to get this information
from VMS.
