While I agree with you about not mixing old and new C styles, I can't
help but think you are generalizing just a bit here.  I happen to know
that Microsoft C for the PC (Ptui!) allows this type of atrocity.  I'd
imagine it's a rather popular compiler too....

Perhaps you could back up your claim with some names?
