IEEE 1003.1 ballot resolution fails

The recent 1003.1 ballot resolution process, which ended 25 February,
had sufficient logistical problems no usable new draft standard was
produced. There will be another resolution period, probably in April,
probably for a period longer than ten days, and presumably with a complete
draft incorporating changes caused by the previous objections in addition
to a document explaining the changes and unresolved ballots that did not
produce changes.

My guess is that this means a 1003.1 Full Use Standard in June.

The recent report to the contrary in Computer Systems News is incorrect.
