Overview/tutorial material on POSIX and GOSIP

We are suddenly in need of tutorial material on POSIX and GOSIP.  The
material should ideally discuss such things as the kinds of services
offered, advantages and disadvantages of adoption, timelines of expected
use and how widespread their adoption is likely to be, etc.  If anyone
can point to relevant articles, your help would be greatly appreciated.
