DIsabling built-in graphics hardware on early AT&T PCs

Several months back, someone posted step-by-step instructions for disabling
the built-in video display hardware on old AT&T PCs (like the 6300, etc.)
so that a modern EGA, VGA, etc. card could be used.  I would appreciate
a reposting, or e-mail of appropriate info. to
