3B1 Power Supply Problem

my home system (iguana.UUCP) is a Unix-PC (3B1).

on tuesday, i came home from work and noticed that the room i keep
my machines in was very warm. i also noticed the normal noise that
comes from the systems was replaced by a high pitched whine.

hmmm, i said, i guess the power supply is toast.

i shut the system down and the next day i tried powering it up, but all
i got was a "click--click" then nothing.

Question: assuming i can't find a replacement power supply, can i replace
it with one for an XT or AT? i know it won't fit in the machine, but i
could extend the wires to the fan, hard disk and motherboard.

can someone send me the specs for a replacement?
