Problems recognizing Weitek Abacus (3167) in 6386E/33

Hi there!

	The symptoms are as follows:

	o	Abacus installed with the same orientation as the other
		chips in the board (except i386);

	o	E43 and E44 jumped together;

	o	try to boot system; diagnostics stop right after
		clock/calendar passes test (does not get to finish
		testing for drives).  If I leave the system in this
		state for a couple of minutes, the Abacus feels about 
		as warm as the 386 when I touch it, so I assume it's 
		getting power all right; finally

	o	turn system off; jump E44 and E45 together :- system
		boots fine but obviously does not recognize
		co-processor.

Is anyone out there using this 6386 model with an Abacus chip? This is
the second chip that we have tried with the same results in the last two
weeks.  We have not tried using a 387.  My AT&T distributor service people 
don't seem to be able to find out what the problem is.  We also had an AT&T 
technician here to look at it, he called the hot line and they said they 
were going to call back.  I'm still waiting for the call.  By the way, this 
is the second mother-board that we've had in this system, the original one 
was completely defective as it came out of the box.  I would appreciate any 
help/suggestions.  Thanks.
