telnetd bug

The telnetd distributed with OSX 4.4c *still* has the bug in it which
causes problems when users log in via the DDN from a TAC and then use
telnet to connect to another host.  When the user types a carriage
return it is sent to the distant host as a line feed.

In addition to that, when network users are in network binary mode,
telnetd appends a 0x00 after every 0x0d, which really messes up binary
file transfer programs such as Xmodem and Zmodem.

This problem was fixed by UCB over a year an a half ago but hasn't
made it into Pyramid's OSX.

I have worked on the pubically distributable UCB 4.3-tahoe version of
telnetd to get it to compile on the Pyramid-98x and it almost works.
One step remains to be done - the required log entry in /etc/utmp and
proper reading of /etc/gettytab.  There are apparently some
differences in the file structures of those two files compared to
generic UCB 4.3-tahoe.

I'd like to find someone who will help finish this port so we can all
have a properly working telnetd.
