G'day Dick,

Please do not construe this as commercial.

I can suggest three places of increasing completeness to learn about
lighting models.

1. Procedural Elements for Computer Graphics by David F. Rogers,
McGraw-Hill 1985, ISBN 0-07-053534-5. Chapter 5 is what you want.
Hopefully your library has it.

2. Roy Hall's paper in Techniques for Computer Graphics, `Color
Reproduction and Illumination Models' pp 194-238, 1987, Editors
David F. Rogers and Rae A. Earnshaw, ISBN 0-387-96492-4 and
ISBN 3-540-96492-4.

3. There is a new book by Roy Hall on illumination models. Publisher is
Springer-Verlag. Publication sometime this summer. Title is not totally
decided on but should be something like `Illumination Models ...'
Again, I am involved. This is the most complete and detailed source on
illumination models for computer graphics. There is even code in the book.
And lots of good color plates showing the differences between models!
