GPIB board for the 4D series

A month or so ago I received the GPIB borad for use with my 4D/70GT.
We use the borad to transfer data between the data acquisition
computer and the Iris. On the old 2000/3000 series this was quite a
simple matter; you changed a file or two in /etc and then it was a
simple matter to read() or write() from any user program. It is quite
a different matter on the 4D series. The ONLY documentation on the
card is an include file /usr/include/sys/ugpid.h and the (mostly
hardware and assembly language) user's manual from the vendor. The
include file suggests that you contact the vendor for an additional
manual about "... IEEE-488 Multitasking UNIX Device Drivers User
Manual" (costs $35). Has anyone out there gotten the GPIB card to
work on the 4D machines and if so could they send me a copy of
the program that sets up the structure needed to get some data
through the card. When the field eng. installed the card he
said that he looked agound SGI and couldn't find any example
software and my questions aren't localized enough that I want to
call the hotline.

Thanks,
