Lisp on SGI machines

I'm posting for a friend who has two questions:

1. He can't make AKCL work. Is there a known problem with this?  (I
don't know the details of the difficulties he encountered; I could get
them).

2. What are the pros and cons of AKCL vs Ibuki vs Franz?
