This week's Digital Review contains an article comparing the new
Sun Sparcstations to SGI machines. There is mention of a diskless
4D/310GTX machine that can display 100,000 polygons/second and
which retails for $49,900.

Is this information accurate? Such a beast is not listed in my periodic
table of the IRISes. For $15,000 more than a 4D/35, this seems like an
awesome deal.

Any information on this 310 machine would be greatly appreciated.
E.g. how many bit-planes, cost for adding a system disk + 32Meg RAM, ...

thanks in advance,
