sphere primitives in 3.3?

ARRRGH..

I just got 3.3.1 installed on my PI. I was mildly enthusiastic about this
becasue I wanted to see if the new advertised sphere primitives were any good.
So I look in the manuals. NOTHING! No man pages, no index references, NADA!

If I wait for the SGI hotline folks to get back to me, I'll have 4.0 installed!
:-(

Does anyone know if such critters exist? And if so, how do I use them?

(yes, I can tesselate a sphere just fine myself, but I might as well use the
feature if it's there, no?)
