C program to import DXF or IGES.

Being a relative newcomer to graphics programming I am looking
for a program example to help me get started. Specifically I would like
a program/program fragment that reads an IGES or DXF file and reconstructs
the figure(s) from that file.

If anyone could help with an example or point to where one might be, I'd
be very grateful.
