You probably need a symlink on your SGI, like this: l--------- 1 root sys 8 Apr 11 1990 /usr/ucb -> /usr/bsd The problem is that the SUN tells RSH to run "/usr/ucb/rdist", but SGI, in their finite wisdom, renamed /usr/ucb as /usr/bsd.
