The low down on DAT drives

We've been looking around at several options on DAT drives for the
computers in our lab. We finally settled on a couple of options. I
was wondering if anyone had used any of these, if they work on Irises,
etc. etc. etc. We're running 3.3.1 right now, but as soon as 4.0
comes out we'll be using that. Here are the drives we've looked at:

Drive Size	Xfer Rate
----------------------	------	---------
HP 35450A DDS 1.3 GB	183 KB/s
Exabyte EXB-8200	2.5 GB	246 KB/s
Exabyte EXB-8200SX	2.5 GB	246 KB/s
Exabyte EXB-8500	5.0 GB	1.5 MB/s
Sony SDT-1000 1.3 GB	183 KB/s

We still haven't gone through and weeded out the slow ones or the
small ones, or the ones that cost an arm and a leg. Right now we're
just trying to find out which ones work on Irises, and more
importantly what problems people have had with them.

Please reply via E-mail, and if anyone else is interested I can post a
summary later.
