ARC image format

I can't remember if I have already posted this here. If so... sorry for 
the bandwidth.

I have obtained data from DMA on CD-ROM in ARC(equal Arc second Raster
Chart) Digitized Raster Graphics form, but I don't know how to get it into 
an SGI image format. Can anyone out there put some light on the subject?
