Connecting an Epson LQ-1000 to a 3/50 running 4.0.1?

I recently inherited an LQ-1000 printer and I'd like to connect it to my
diskless 3/50 using a parallel to serial converter and port ttya.

Unfortunately, the converter only accepts RTS/CTS flow control. The Sun
manuals don't seem too clear about what should be done in this case. The
instructions for adding a printer in the System and Network Administration
Guide say that lines 4 and 5 and lines 6 and 20 should be connected to
each other. The printcap(5) manual page contains an example in which
RTS/CTS is enabled using a crtscts mode.

The crtscts mode does not seem to work (though the sun doesn't complain
about an unrecognized mode). Using a null modem cable and running the
works at 1200 baud a file begins to overflow the buffer after about a
page.

So my question is has anyone connected an LQ-1000 to a sun? If not, has
anybody connected any printer to a sun using RTS/CTS?

I'd be interested in suggestions, printcap examples, cabling pinout hints
or RTFM page references.

Please send any info to me directly and I'll summarize to the list if
interest warrents.

	Thank You
