The number of messages coming in to Sun-Spots is continuting to overwhelm
me. In the past 24 hours, I have received 72K of submissions. Things are
slowly becoming unmanageable. In one attempt to organize this information
in some fashion, I have started categorizing messages by topic. I have
identified seven topical areas in which to place messages. My intent is
that one digest will contain messages about one or possibly two topics.
The seven areas I am starting with are:

386i (everything specific to the RoadRunner)
Hardware (both Sun and third party)
	Software (including most "standard" software)
	Networking
SunOS (especially kernel and management related)
	Windows (OpenLook, SunView)
	Miscellaneous

I think this will make things go faster and it will certainly help readers
ignore topics they don't care about. The format of the digest header will
change just slightly when I start using these areas. Instead of "Today's
Topics" there will be a line labeled "Digest Topic" followed by one of the
above subject titles. Then the list of subjects will be identified simply
as "Contents".

Usually when a list becomes overcrowded like this, it indicates that it is
time to start creating more lists. I would like to start moving some of
these topics to other lists. For example, Sun-Nets for network issues.
Another clear area that could be split off is the 386i. Is anyone
interested in starting a mailing list dedicated to the discussion of the
Sun 386i? If you are, let me know and I will tell you what you need to do
to start one (it's real easy). A SunView list might also be an idea to
consider.

Something needs to happen soon, because this list is reaching critical
mass.
