Looking for another Editor

You might want to have a look at textedit, the SunView editor. "Real
programmers" generally frown upon full screen editors (and use emacs of
course) but I am quite happy with it. Once you learn to use the mouse and
the buttons on the left hand side of the keyboard it is very fast. You
can cut and paste without using the menu in this way. You can also pipe
portions of your text through external filters (a C formatter for
example).

The big advantage of SunView over other window environments (a la
Macintosh) is that it does not insist in treating you like a beginner all
the time. Once you know all the shortcuts and key combinations, it is very
efficient.
