Converting to Mach?

Our site is in the planning stages of converting to Mach and would like to
hear about other successes or failures.

In particular we would like to know about the CMU distribution on an
Encore Multimax as compared to the Encore released version, i.e. is it
worth paying Encore for the convenience?  We are currently running Umax
4.2 and would like to know if there are any problems with the conversion,
either using CMU's or Encore's.

Another question is, to what machines has Mach been ported?  I seem to
remember reading something about running Mach on a Sun.  Specifically are
there any projects working with SGI iris, DG/88000, or Suns?
