what is the 'approved' method of adding menus to an application under sunview

I am porting an application program to work under Sunview and I am
wondering if there is some standard 'approved' method of adding menus.
Currently I just add my entries to the default menu. I want this to be as
intuitive as possible for people who are used to using the Sunview
environment.
