Serial ports on 386i?

Howdy,

I looked through some back issues of sun-spots for help on my question
but didn't find any answers.

I have a 386i and would like to put some more serial ports on it. I
thought the cheapest way would be to buy an AT serial card. From what I've
read many people have put AT 2-port boards without problem but I was wanting
to put an AT 4-port board. I would like these ports to be available from
both UNIX and DOS.

Will this work? Has anyone done this? If so, did you need to write
your own UNIX drivers to use the ports. The manuals show how to add one
more port and the driver is already there but how did some of you add
two AT ports. HELP ME! I'M IN THE DARK!

Thanks.
