A while ago I remember reading about an alternative Unix filing system,
which is optimised for image processing. That is, it is optimised for
sequential reading of LARGE files in large blocks, directly into user
process space, bypassing kernel buffering. I believe this sat under the
Sun VFS virtual filing system interface.
Does anyone have any references to this? RTFM pointers welcome!
