Two novice questions.

As a relatively new Sun owner, I have a couple of questions which I
thought I would toss out for comment by you more experienced users. (I am
running SunOS 4.0.3 on a 3/60 standalone machine)
1: Is it possible to alter the console's solid cursor to make it blink?
The CONSOLE(4s) driver is described as offering a non-blinking cursor
and leaves it at that.
I would like to change this because 1: Within a shelltool or cdmtool
window (using click-to-type), it is difficult to distinguish the cursor
from the single-character selection block you get at some random place
every time you click back to the window and 2: If you have a data-entry
form on the screen that uses reverse-video fields, It is next-to-impossible
to see where the cursor is when it is at the edge of a field.
2: When using vi on the raw console (outside of sunview) or within a shelltool
or a cmdtool, I have notice that there is about a one-second delay between
the time you press ESC to terminate input mode and the point when the cursor
responds and repositions itself to the appropriate location.
As an example, let's say you are typing a new line and finish the sentence
with a period. The cursor is now positioned just to the right of the
period. When you press ESC to return to command mode, the cursor moves
left and sits on top of the period. This is where the one-second delay
occurs. I checked to see that "timeout" was set within vi.
The confusing thing is that this occurs on the console as well as on a
UNIXPC when I rlogin over the ethernet - but I do not get this behavior
from a Wyse-75 (vt100) terminal plugged directly into ttya.
Any suggestions as to what causes this behavior? Thanks for any pointers.
