Losing AutoRaise (in twm) under X11R3 (Sparc SunOS 4.0.1) ??

Has anyone out there experienced losing AutoRaise under twm if you've
several overlapping windows (e.g. Emacs & Xterm) opened and you've left
the console for a while (e.g. over 30mins) ?

I haven't seen this before though.  I've X11R3, Emacs-18.55, twm
(88/10/18), tcsh-5.12, on my 4/110 (under 4.0.1).  It just happened
without any error messages from the clients nor with Xsun...  Weird ...
