X11(R4) on a cg8

If I'm not mistaken, I fairly recently saw a message fly by on one of the
lists, indicating that "someone out there" was working on porting X11R4
for use with the cg8 frame buffer.  Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I have a 4/110 with a cg8 and would love to be able to run X on it (even
just in the monochrome planegroup would be better than nothing).
