xnews cursor, video retrace, gx doc

I have three questions about the SS1GX, all graphical.

1) xnews uses the GX's hardware cursor. After one quits, however, the
cursor is left on the screen, and nothing I do will remove it. (short of
starting up xnews and making it invisible, but we all know how long it
takes to start up xnews...) How can I clear the cursor? There must be an
ioctl() or something simple.

2) I often do double buffered animation on the GX by diddling the look-up
tables. Unfortunately, I don't know how to synchronize my flipping the
buffer with the vertical retrace to eliminate flicker. Does the SS1 have
an interrupt that I can access? I tried the Pixrect double buffering
calls, but they don't do anything (because there is no *real* db on the
machine I guess)

3) The bottom line: Is there *any* documentation for the GX board? A
recent article in _Sun_Tech_ describes many fantastic features, none of
which are supported by any Sun software that I know of. Even the most
meager doc or examples would be greatly appreciated.
