Server/Monitor/Console

Is there a good way to setup a server(4/490) with terminal (wyse-50) as
console and color monitor for graphics?

Sun people suggested this:

Connect a dumb terminal to ttya and hookup the color monitor to the
server. Change the PROM to let ttya as boot console. Create the device
/dev/cgsix0 and change the minor number for /dev/ttyc and /dev/ttyd. Then
use the following command to initialize a sunview session on the color
monitor:

	sunview -d /dev/cgsix0 -k /dev/ttyc -m /dev/ttyd &

This method works fine except:

1) The color monitor and keyboard can do nothing unless you run the above
   command from other terminal/console.

2) If the .sunview or .suntools has a cmdtools as console, the terminal
console will be locked until you manually quit that console window.

3) There is certain software such as Cadence's Edge CAD environment which
cannot run from Sunview. User has to invoke the package from the graphics
   console.

The ideal solution is to let user login using the color monitor and do
whatever apllications they want while a dumb terminal is the only console
for system administration. (In the past we have the color monitor as the
console and some users accidentally hit the L1-A - the server down, we
have to fsck all the hard disks and ....)
