Console accelerator

I have written a sun console accelerator and made it available for
anonymous ftp from wilma.cs.brown.edu (128.148.32.66). The program is
called tconsole. The following is from the README file included with the
source:

Tconsole is a sun console accelerator. In its default configuration,
tconsole uses the same font and window size as the sun console. It can be
started up with a different font and any window size, however.

The acceleration factor on a SS1 GX (4.0.3) for cat'ing a large file is
around 70x. GX-less machines do not benefit as much, but tconsole is still
considerably faster than the actual console.

The usefulness of such a program is perhaps questionable, given that most
people use X or sunview. I frequently like to log on fast to read/send
mail or read news, etc. Waiting for a window system to start up is
overkill, (especially if you use OpenWindows) but the vanilla sun console
us quite unusable, hence the usefulness of tconsole.

Tconsole is a terminal emulator, much like an xterm or cmdtool. It
allocates a new tty and runs a shell or other command on that tty.
However, since it does not rely on an underlying server like xterm or
cmdtool, it starts up very fast.
