Ypserv -d is logging to the console

I'm running SunOS 4.1 on a SPARCserver 330. A few days ago, I changed
/etc/rc.local to start ypserv with -d to have it do DNS lookups for
unknown hosts. This works great. However, it appears that ypserv is
logging its DNS lookups to the console. That's a bit annoying. To top it
all off, it doesn't bother to put a newline at the end of the text. Very
untidy.

Is there any way that I can shut off this logging? Did I do something
foolish to cause it in the first place (besides running YP, that is)?

In case it matters, my console is a terminal -- I don't have a framebuffer
in my SPARCserver.

Please email replies, I'll post a summary if asked. Thanks for any help,
