Weird login behavior

Our SPARCstations have started exhibiting really WEIRD behavior when you
first log in.

(1)	The line

		/dev/sd0g /usr 4.2 rw 1 2

prints when you log in, before your .cshrc and .login execute.
I know this is from /etc/fstab, but why is it printing??

(2)	There is a LONG delay (2 minutes?) when logging in. It
occurs before the .cshrc and .login execute. Doing a "ps"
	shows:

		login -h whatever.cs.jhu.edu -p

running for all this time. "whatever" is the machine on which I
run "telnet" to reach the SPARC.

Both of these problems happen no matter how you log in (rlogin, telnet, or
directly at console). SunOS Release 4.0.3c, SPARCstation 1. Any ideas?
