I am quite a novice at administrating and seem to have a real bad problem.
The system is a Sun 3/50 with a Fujitsu m2263s 670 meg drive. I am
running 4.0.3.

The problem is that when doing the most routine things (a make for
example) the drive will time out with an error that resembles (this won't
be spaced out exactly):

SD timer I/O request timeout
     last phase = 0x4 (DATA IN)
     csr = 0x0407  bcr = 0  tcr = 0x1
     cbsr = 0x45 (DATA IN)  cdr = 0x81  mr = 0x2  bsr = 0x88
     target = 0  lun = 0  dma addr = 0x2000  count = 8192 (8192)
     cdb = 8 0 76 34 10 0

This will repeat. This happens regularly, but not always, as this message
is being written using a terminal session from the sun in question.

What can anyone tell me? Is there any known hardware conflicts between
this drive and machine? Anyone have similar problems? Anyone have a
similar configuration and can say that this doesn't happen to them? Is
4.0.3 a problem? Will reinstalling help?

Any information is useful information, so please write if you can help
clue me into my problem and a possible solution.

Brian
