RPC PROBLEMS

I am having problems using RPC.  

The program numbers and the version numbers are registered with the
portmap.  Once the server is started and the client has been ran, they
both have the same port number, but the control of the program seems as
though it finds the port number on the remote machine but it comes back to
the client expecting to run the commands on the client rather than the
server.
