Monitoring large numbers of workstations

[Nicholas R. Trio]

Does anyone know of any software available (commercial or public
domain) for monitoring a large number of workstations (e.g. some
software that runs on each workstation and monitors processes,
file systems, etc., and reports back to a central facility)?
Any info would be appreciated.
