Good sources for learning Hardware side

System:	  Presently, SunOS4.1.1 on SunServer 4/380


I would like to get to know the hardware side of things but
find it very difficult as it seems that the only way is to 
learn on the fly.  And then it is costly for my users.  So,
what is the best way to learn about the hardware side of
administring a lab?
