RS/6000 goodies

Having recently converted to an IBM RISC System/6000, I have two questions
my operators have been bugging me about.
 
1) How do you eject a tape from the 8mm tape deck via software? 
   This can be handy as it prevents overwrites.

2) Can you play musical CDs on the CD-ROM player? After all, there's a 
   headphone jack.
