GL<-->GTO(730) graphics compatibility?

Since there are few if any 'unbundled' RS/6000 'GTO' graphics
engines out there in the world, this question is directed to
folks with 730s:

Has anyone had any luck running applications written for the
24-bit GL graphics engine on a GTO graphics system?  Information
I've got from IBM suggests it shouldn't involve MUCH more than
relinking to a different set of libraries, but I'd really like
to know what 'much' means.
