RS6000 Exabytes

Sometime ago there was talk of problems connecting a standard Exabyte
to the RS6000 systems. 

>From what I remember the problem involved prom changes to the Exabyte
to give a custom "I am an Exabyte with a blue button" in response
to a SCSI inquiry.

Has anyone, anywhere in the world successfully connected a standard
Exabyte to the IBM RS6000 systems? Was anything special required?

I'll summarise if I get any replies.
