A/UX w/ catridge disks?

Two questions:

(1) Can the 45M removable catridge hard disks be used with A/UX?

(2) If the (1) is true, would it be possible to fit a lean copy of
    A/UX onto one catridge?  I ask this because I intend to run my
    new IIcx primarily as a Mac OS machine, but it would be nice to
    be able to boot up A/UX 1.1 on occasion.  I have a Mass Micro
    Cartridge drive and was thinking how it would be nice to dedicate
    a catridge to A/UX...
