Questions about X11 and Mac/AUX

Hello,
I have A/UX running on my Mac IIcx and have Apple's distribution
of X11R3 and I have several questions and queries:
1) Does X11R4 perform better or worse or the same as R3 as
distributed by Apple? If performance is about the same are there
other benefits to R4 that would make it worthwhile?
2) Assuming that the answers to one dictate that I should get R4 is
there anyone out there who has binaries compiled for A/UX that
they could either make available for FTP or perhaps FTP to a site
that I make available? I don't have sufficient disk space to hold
the source tree.
3) The onlything I dislike about X as distributed by Apple is the
fact that the two mouse buttons that the Mac lacks are mapped onto
the cursor keys. Is this the case with MIT's R4 as well? Is
there some way to map these buttons to some other key combination?
Perhaps two of the function keys?
4) There are various multi-button third party mice available for the
Mac. Has anyone used one of these mice with X? What I'd ideally
like to do is to map some strange key combination to act as the
extra two mouse buttons and then program a multi-button mouse to
send those key combinations when the appropriate mouse buttons are
pressed. Does this sound at all practical?
Thanks in advance for any opinions or information.
