problem with tty and job control

Hi

When I go into AUX from any type of AUX session I get this message on
the shell above the prompt:

No access to tty. Therefore no job control for this shell...

If I open up another shell this does not happen. Also, if I run my
.profile this does not reoccur. This does happens when I login in
from other accounts. The only account that this does not happen is
root. The last big job I did that could have screwed things up is to
install X windows. But everything seemed to work fine in X windows
and I didn't just go into AUX for quite awhile after installing X
windows so I don't know if that could be the problem.

Thanks,

Pete
