gettydefs that allows to read /etc/issue

I am told that uugetty will not work with issue while getty is always
displaying /etc/issue.  I am using same modem on both dialout and dialin
so I guess I will have to put in crontab to switch getty and uugetty for
outbound calling.   getty will not work on outgoing calls.  Am I
correct?
