<>To get a list and description of the files at 'adaptex', use:
<>uucp adaptex!~/list /usr/spool/uucppublic/list
<Well, RTFM caused this screwup. The '~' was supposed to be expanded to the
<path in the passwd file. It doesn't get expanded so here's what you need
<to get the stuff.
<uucp adaptex!/usr/spool/uucppublic/scsiutil/list /usr/spool/uucppublic/list

The '~' will not expand the way it is written in the above uucp command. It
looks like it should be:

uucp adaptex!~uucp/scsiutil/list ~uucp (use \! for csh command line)

Depending on the system, the uucp may be nuucp. You must remember that the
'~' needs a name of the user in the password file, before it can be expanded.
The idea of the '~' without anything is for when a user is logged into a system
and the '~' then gets expanded to the user's home, ie, ~/.login will find the
user's .login file.

Hope this helps a little bit.
